Angela: Angela currently lives in Denver, Colorado, and is an accountant. Angela loves reading Chinese literature and playing volleyball in her spare time. April: April (Xiaolei Sun) is a native of Inner Mongolia, China. She studied in Mongolia and Beijing, worked in Beijing for many years, and currently works in Kunming, Yunnan as an architect for a real estate company. April loves history and considers herself a foodie, someone with an interest in food.
Beituo: Beituo used to work for the Chinese government, focusing specifically on the Poverty Alleviation Project for a few years. Beituo has been working for the U.S. federal government for more than 10 years.
Duan Lang: After majoring in finance at university, Duan taught himself computer science and became an IT product manager. He now lives in Beijing. History has been a major hobby for Duan since his teenage years.
Eric Zhou: Dr. Hanning Zhou is the current Head of Artificial Intelligence at SmartNews and boasts 15 years of experience in R&D, innovation, and management. Dr. Zhou graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree in automation before going on to collect a doctorate in computer vision from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has 16 invention patents.
Ge Zhong: Ge is an associate professor of English at a university in Sichuan Province, China. Zhong is passionate about literary creation and has published hundreds of poems, essays, children’s literature, and novels in the past 70 years.
Guodong Zhang: Dr. Zhang is a research microbiologist specializing in detecting foodborne pathogens at the FDA. Before that, Dr. Zhang worked at the Northeast Agricultural University of China for about 20 years.
Huanhuan Luo: Huanhuan worked as an editor in Beijing before moving to the States. She is now a full-time mom and lives in Denver, Colorado.
Jianfeng Wei: Jianfeng graduated from the School of International Relations and is a member the Democratic Party of Peasants and Workers in China. Jianfeng loves to listen to Peking Opera and cook in his spare time.
Jie Xu: Jie has practiced law for over 20 years and currently works at a large law firm in Shanghai, providing bilateral legal services for clients from all over the world.
Ke Zang: Dr. Zhang is a Colorado-licensed and certified master acupuncturist, herbalist, and Tai Ji instructor. She studied his many trades at Liao Ning University prior to coming to the United States and earning his doctorate in chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC).
Le Kang: Le holds a PhD in Foreign Language Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and taught English at the college level in China before returning to the U.S. He teaches Chinese and ESL in both public and private schools.
Shan: Shan is a retired government employee from Lanzhou, China.
Sir I: Sir I is a comparative culture researcher and educator at both Chinese and American Universities.
Survey Ni: Survey graduated from a military university in China and currently operates a small company in Shenzhen, China.
Suxia Gong: Suxia is a trade company owner who has been living in the U.S. for over 10 years. She recently went back to China to further pursue career development due to the pandemic.
Wei Wang: Wei graduated from Shanghai International Studies University and currently works in the social media field. He is a writer and has written numerous pieces, including The Past in a Small Town.
Xiaorong Ding: Xiaorong has over 25 years of clinical acupuncture experience and holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in acupuncture from renowned universities in China. Currently, she works in Truemind Center as a senior acupuncturist and a professor in CSTCM.
Yanxin Luo: Yanxin came to the U.S. when he was 14 and experienced different homestays from various cultural backgrounds. He majored in Early Childhood Education in college and is currently pursuing an MS in Higher Education. Yu: Mr. Yu is a businessman who was trained in Chinese calligraphy from a young age. He loves to play volleyball in his spare time.
Yuancong Zhang: Yuancong graduated from the Department of Journalism of Lanzhou University and was, at one point, a senior reporter for Yangcheng Evening News Group. She now lives in a small town in Kentucky.
Yuanting Zhang: Yuanting Zhang obtained her MA in Sociology in 2001 from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She went on to earn an MS degree in Applied Statistics and PhD in Population Studies from Bowling Green State University. After graduation, Dr. Zhang worked as a Health Research Evaluator at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and a Consumer Science Specialist for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Before joining the Colorado Department of Public Safety, she also worked for the Colorado Department of Human Services as a Research and Evaluation Specialist and as an Adjunct Instructor for Community College of Aurora.
